After-School Childcare Provider
Position Summary
The After-School Childcare Provider is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children in kindergarten through fifth grade attending our faith-based after-school program. This individual supervises children, assists with homework, leads recreational and enrichment activities, and models Christian values through daily interactions. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, demonstrates patience and professionalism, and is committed to supporting each child's social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision to children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Foster a welcoming, positive, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and respected.
- Plan and lead age-appropriate games, crafts, recreational activities, and enrichment opportunities.
- Assist students with homework and encourage positive study habits.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, volunteers, and staff.
- Maintain appropriate behavior through positive guidance and consistent expectations.
- Prepare and serve snacks according to program guidelines and food safety practices.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe classrooms and activity areas.
- Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Communicate concerns, incidents, and accomplishments to the Program Director and parents as appropriate.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Support and uphold the mission, values, and faith-based principles of the organization while serving children and families with compassion and respect.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged children in a school, childcare, camp, or similar setting preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a group of children while maintaining a positive and engaging atmosphere.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Ability to successfully complete required background checks and any state-required childcare training.

Staff members are expected to support the mission of the organization through their attitude, conduct, and interactions with children, families, and fellow team members.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
