Position Summary
The Sub-Fabrication Project Coordinator serves as an extension of the Project Manager in the oversight of steel fabrication performed by subcontractors (“sub-fabricators”) and is responsible for management of sub-fabrication from the submittal stage to fabrication completion and delivery of materials.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3-6 years of related experience in the structural steel and/or general construction industry. General knowledge of construction methods, processes, scheduling and coordination. Ability to read and interpret submittals and shop drawings. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Demands
Must be able to sit and work directly on a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally. High pressure work environment. - Interfaces with Project Manager and necessary departments to assist in the scheduling of work and materials to and from sub-fabricators.
- Coordinates shipping schedules and load arrangements between sub-fabricator and jobsite or Prospect Steel facilities.
- Provides input and direction to aid in the preparation and maintenance of all sub-fabrication backlogs and schedules.
- Acts as the conduit for information flowing between the Project Manager and the sub-fabricators while working closely with the Purchasing and Production Control departments.
- Tracks, understands and reports on sub-fabricator’s adherence to the project schedule.
- Works with Project Team and Quality Assurance department to expedite corrective action resolutions for non-conforming items.
- Ensures that the proper drawings are being utilized in the sub-fabricator’s plant.
- Works closely with Project Team on efficiently incorporating changes to the sub-fabricator’s scope of work to minimize cost and schedule impacts.
- Reports status of materials, fabrication and any variation in scheduled activities.
- Assists in activities required to close out sub-fabricator contracts on a project.
