Position Summary
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing complete, accurate estimates for all contract types.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Construction Management and/or a minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience as an Estimator in a structural steel fabrication environment is required. Must be able to read and understand blueprints and architectural drawings. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Fabtrol.
Physical Demands
Requires some overtime and weekend work. May require some overnight travel. Must be capable of multi-tasking and be efficient in time management. Must be able to work in a high pressure environment in order to meet deadlines. Must be able to sit and work on a computer the majority of the work day.All of the physical demands listed are essential functions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for bid administration in preparing full estimates on complex work.
- Research construction documents and analyze specifications.
- Perform take-off of all steel and buyout items and enter into Fabtrol as required and/or obtain quotes on items that are bought out.
- Communicate with customer, vendors, erectors, engineers, architects and salesmen to ensure the design intent is understood and bid requirements are followed.
- Prepare a complete estimated price with a comprehensive description of all included and excluded items.
- Obtain review and approval of estimates prior to submitting and route the estimates to the applicable parties once the bid has been submitted.
- Perform time studies, change order estimates, and assists in sub-out fabrication as needed.
- The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
