Position Overview
Lexiam Accounting is seeking an experienced, engaged Staff Accountant to support a diverse portfolio of small business clients. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with local business owners, gain exposure to a variety of industries, and make a meaningful impact on clients’ financial success.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, supporting month-end close processes, and assisting with audits and budgeting activities. This role partners closely with the Accounting Manager and responds to internal and external information requests as needed.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety, continuous learning, and working in a collaborative, small-team environment with a high degree of independence and autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, reports, and general ledger accounts
- Prepare journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliations
- Assist with monthly close processes and reporting deadlines
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Support the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections
- Maintain accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury documentation
- Conduct internal audits and assist with external audit requests
- Respond to management and audit information requests; review financial statements
- Provide support to the Accounting Manager as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional experience
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) required; experience with NetSuite, Xero, or similar systems is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis
- Strong analytical, numeracy, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective with time management
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality work and treating client businesses with care and ownership

Role Details
- Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
- Compensation: $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience
- Location: Redondo Beach, CA
- Work Arrangement: 100% in-office at our Redondo Beach headquarters
- Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
