Loader Operator

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Loader Operator to join our dynamic scrap team. In this vital role, you will operate heavy machinery to load, unload, and move materials efficiently across the yard. Your expertise will ensure safe, precise, and timely handling of materials.

Hourly Rate: $18-$22/hr based on experience.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm, Overtime as needed, Saturdays

Essential functions

• Operate front-end loaders to move materials throughout the yard
• Load material onto trucks, trailers, etc. as needed
• Ensure that all materials are properly segregated and prepared for sale to customers
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and tracking the movement of materials
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding salvage yard operations
• Maintain a safe working environment by being alert, conscious, and aware of your surroundings.
• Maintain a clean work environment, ensuring that all employees are adhering to environmental regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

• Proficient in basic math and computer skills
• Valid Driver’s license is required

Physical demands

• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently
• Ability to walk, crouch, crawl, and kneel for long periods of time.

Required education and experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 2 years operating heavy equipment, specifically front-end loaders

Expected hours: 40.0 – 55.0 per week
