Duties
- Vigilantly monitor pool areas to prevent accidents and respond swiftly to emergencies using established rescue techniques.
- Enforce facility rules and safety guidelines to promote a safe environment for all guests.
- Conduct regular pool maintenance tasks including cleaning, chemical testing, and adjusting water quality to ensure optimal conditions.
- Assist guests with pool access, provide information about facilities, and address guest inquiries with friendly professionalism.
- Perform routine pool cleaning duties such as skimming debris, scrubbing surfaces, and managing pool equipment.
- Support overall facility maintenance by reporting repairs needed for pool filters, pumps, or other equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of safety checks, incidents, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Check Membership Rosters at check-in to validate member status prior to entry to the pool area.
Skills
- Proven lifeguard experience with current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification and First Aid training.
- Must hold a valid (not expired) Lifeguard Certification.
- Strong swimming skills with the ability to perform water rescues confidently.
- Knowledge of pool maintenance procedures including chemical testing and balancing water quality.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling equipment or cleaning supplies safely.
- Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude.
- Basic understanding of pool cleaning techniques and equipment operation.
- Ability to remain alert for extended periods while maintaining focus on safety protocols.
- This position involves sitting for 2-3 hours at a time, sometimes in extreme heat and sun.
