Job Description
We are seeking a mechanically inclined individual with experience in operating crushers. The ideal candidate should be able to replace belts, perform welding tasks, maintain gearboxes and pulley systems, change out rollers, jaw dies, and drive belts. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable working at heights.
Bonus points will be given to those who can operate a front-end loader.
The Levy Group of Companies is hiring Plant Operators for our Levy Gallatin location in Ghent, KY. This position involves operating mobile equipment, slag processing plant, and maintaining the plant, conveyor, crusher, and screens.
Responsibilities:
- Operate mobile equipment to feed the plant
- Perform pre and post operation inspections of the plant and mobile equipment
- Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions
- Replace drive belts, jaw dies, screen decks and maintain gear boxes and pulleys
- Ensure preventive maintenance and repairs are made on the plant, secondary structures, related maintenance tools, and safety equipment
- Manage the startup and shut down process for the plant, conveyors, crushers, and related components
- Maintain housekeeping of the yard and plant
- Inspect and monitor the plant and secondary structures to ensure safe and proper operation
- Determine proper settings for the crusher and feeder
- Monitor the plant to ensure proper operations
- Monitor air emissions and take appropriate corrective action
- Adjust the plant based on production and plant performance data
- Ensure material production schedule is maintained
- Determine timing and controls watering of stockpiles
- Check stockpile to ensure product quality and mixes material to desired consistency
- Perform other projects as assigned by supervisor
Skills:
- Ability to operate heavy mobile equipment and plant
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to identify mechanical malfunctions
- Ability to weld and burn
- Knowledge of plant equipment, conveyor systems, screens, and crushers
- Knowledge of materials and appropriate safety procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent
