Salary Range: ($65,000 - $72,000 per year)

Overview:
The Engineering Technician performs various duties in designing, fabricating, testing and documenting electrical engineering projects. This position works under moderate supervision. This role provides the opportunity to work within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc.
Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical and mechanical testing on development prototypes
- Assist design engineers with development of product models, fixtures and prototypes
- Provide production sustaining support with product sample testing, troubleshooting, test fixture fabrication and maintenance
- Testing of structured cabling system components to telecommunications standards, including radio frequency test equipment operation and data collection
- Assist in the engineering lab with the maintenance and calibration of their test equipment and fixturing
- Preparing test reports, including electrical and mechanical measurements, collection and summary of data
- Maintain proper inventory of hand-tools, consumable items and components necessary to sustain operability of the laboratory
Skills – Technical
- Ability to work with laboratory instrumentation and field test equipment such as vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, handheld link testers, and environmental chambers
- Hand tools, soldering, electronic device assembly, machine tools, low voltage electrical and structured cabling installation preferred.
- Ability to operate test equipment
- Electrical/electronic troubleshooting skills preferred
- Through-hole and surface mount soldering skills preferred

- Associate degree (A. A.) from two-year college or technical school
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an engineering technician
