Camp Levine
As the D.C. area’s premier fine arts camp, Camp Levine has inspired thousands of children, young musicians, and families for 36 years. We seek experienced, enthusiastic arts educators to continue this tradition in Summer 2025.

Teaching & Staff Positions
Pre-K / Kindergarten Teacher
Teaches ages 4–5 through music/circle time, art, movement, stories, and outdoor play. Works with the same group of 8–10 campers daily. Full-day (9am–4pm) preferred; half-day possible. Early childhood/elementary experience required. Orff, Kodály, Montessori, or Steiner training a plus.
Choral/Vocal Music Teacher
Works with groups of 20–25 campers in grades 1–6. Leads warm-ups, group singing connected to the camp theme, and selects/prepares all vocal repertoire for the musical theatre performance. Collaborates closely with dance and drama faculty for musical integration. Afternoon position; can be paired with morning classes.
Instrument Teachers
Teach group instrumental classes for multiple ages. Responsibilities include:
- Morning Sing: Accompany full-camp singing as part of a small pit ensemble.
- Focus Instrument (Grades 3–6): Daily 30–40 minute beginner lessons preparing a final performance piece.
- Instrument Sampler (Grades 1–2): Introductory small-group exploration.
- Meet the Instruments (PreK/K): Up to three classroom visits per session.
Possible openings include: cello, violin, piano, flute, guitar, clarinet, trumpet, saxophone, percussion, and harp (availability varies by site). Morning positions; can be paired with afternoon assignments.
Music Teacher

Before Care Teacher
Arrives by 7:50 AM, greets campers beginning at 8:00 AM, manages sign-in, and supervises structured/unstructured activities for all ages until 9:15 AM. Escorts campers to classes at 9:20 AM.
After Care Teacher
Supervises structured/unstructured activities from 3:45–6:00 PM for campers PreK–Grade 6. Manages authorized pick-ups. Can also teach morning/afternoon classes for a full-day schedule.
Songwriting & Composition Teacher
Teaches grades 1–6 (10–14 students per group). Meets with each group every other day. Introduces notation, musical structure, and composition, guiding campers as they create original music. Afternoon position; can combine with morning teaching.
