Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance coverage and collect necessary co-pays or fees
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate staff member
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care and support
-Assist in the workup (teching) of Optometry and potentially Ophthalmology, as needed
Experience:
- Previous experience working in an optometric office or similar healthcare setting preferred
- Familiarity with medical systems such as Nextgen
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of medical records management and documentation practices
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff members
