Duties
- Assist the captain and management team with daily vessel operations, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Oversee rigging operations, including lifting, securing cargo, and ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and operated safely.
- Conduct routine inspections of mechanical systems, including engines, hydraulics, and other critical machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage onboard safety procedures, including safety drills, emergency response readiness, and compliance with maritime regulations.
- Support crew management tasks such as training new team members and coordinating maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate with management on voyage planning, cargo handling, and logistical coordination to ensure timely deliveries.
- Maintain detailed records of vessel activities, inspections, maintenance logs, and safety reports to ensure transparency and compliance.
Experience
- Current MMC, physical, and STCW training.
- GMDSS and life boatman required.
- Proven management experience in a marine or industrial environment that involves overseeing teams or complex operations.
- Strong rigging skills with hands-on experience in lifting operations using cranes or other heavy equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge of marine engines, hydraulics, or related machinery essential for troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with maritime safety standards and regulations to uphold the highest safety standards onboard.
