About the Position
The Tax Assistant supports the Tax Managers with delivering accurate, compliant, and timely tax services for corporate and individual clients. This role assists with tax strategy execution, return preparation, compliance tracking, and tax notice resolution while coordinating documentation, research, and client communications.
The Tax Assistant works cross-functionally with multiple departments to support tax planning, filings, audits, and reporting, while also providing essential administrative and operational support to ensure deadlines, workflows, and deliverables are met.
This position is a full-time, overtime exempt position and requires candidates to be onsite at our Nashville office location from the hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm CST. This position will be considered for hybrid (WFH) following a 90-day period.
Responsibilities

Support Tax Managers in delivering tax services for corporate and individual clients

Assist with preparation and filing of tax returns, forms, and related compliance documents

Track deadlines, workflows, and deliverables to ensure timely and accurate filings

Assist with tax notice resolution and preparation of correspondence with tax authorities

Communicate with internal teams to support tax planning and compliance needs

Collaborate cross-functionally with multiple departments

Maintain accurate records, reports, and client files while supporting administrative tax operations

Qualifications:Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree Business Administration, Finance, Accounting experience or related field.

Experience: One year of work experience in an administrative role preferred; in public accounting, business management, or relevant is a plus.
Skills & Abilities

Strong Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with a variety of clients, team members, and provide clear updates.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize assignments, streamline workflows, track long-term and short-term tasks, and keep up with emerging needs.

Financial Acumen: Understanding of accounting principles, tax preparation, budgeting, expense management, or financial reporting.

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications, especially excel, and project management tools. Knowledge of financial software such as QuickBooks would be a plus.
