Floral Processor
Overview
We're hiring a Floral Processor to handle the initial intake and prep of fresh flowers for events—primarily weddings. This role is critical to flower quality and production flow. If flowers aren't processed correctly, everything downstream suffers.This is a hands-on, behind-the-scenes role, not a design position.
What You'll Do
- Receive and unpack flower deliveries
- Properly process flowers: cutting, hydrating, stripping, conditioning, and organizing
- Identify flower types and follow specific care instructions
- Bucket, label, and store flowers correctly in coolers
- Remove damaged product and flag issues immediately
- Maintain cleanliness in processing areas, sinks, and coolers; take out trash
- Follow processing timelines to keep production on schedule
What You Must Bring
- Ability to work quickly and accurately—processing is time-sensitive
- Strong attention to detail (wrong cut, wrong bucket, wrong cooler = real problems)
- Comfort with repetitive, physical tasks and wet work
- Ability to follow instructions and systems exactly; ability to lift boxes, fill and lift water buckets (up to 40 pounds), comfort with sharp scissors and shears
- Willingness to work early mornings when deliveries arrive
Nice to Have
- Prior experience processing flowers (wholesale, retail, or event)
- Familiarity with common wedding flowers
Schedule & Structure
- Part-time / contract; will be eligible for payroll
- Primarily scheduled for Tuesdays (but occasionally Mondays); our event schedule varies from month to month so is not always consistent
- Early mornings may be required
