Event Décor Preparation & Support (Entry-Level)
Overview
We're hiring Event Décor Preparation and Support Specialist to help prep, clean, and organize décor items for events—primarily weddings. This is an entry-level, hands-on support role focused on behind-the-scenes preparation that keeps event days running smoothly. To be clear: this is not a styling or design role. If you enjoy organizing, cleaning, and checking details off a list, you'll do well here.
What You'll Do
- Clean and prep décor items before and after events
- Clean large quantities of candles and votives (wax removal is a core task)
- Sort, label, and pack décor by event and location
- Assist with staging décor for load-in and breakdown
- Help reset décor inventory after events
- Maintain neat, organized décor storage areas
What You Must Bring
- Willingness to do repetitive, detail-oriented tasks (especially candle cleaning)
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow checklists and systems exactly
- Reliability and a good work ethic—this role depends on consistency
- Comfort with physical work: lifting (up to 50 pounds), standing, bending, and cleaning
- Ability to work independently once shown the process
Nice to Have
- Experience with events, rentals, florals, or inventory work
- Availability during weekdays and around event weekends
- Someone who genuinely enjoys organizing and finishing tasks properly
Schedule & Structure
- Part-time / contract; will be eligible for payroll
- Our event schedule varies, but looking for assistance from mid-January through mid-June, potentially resuming in August or fall
- Hours and days vary based on event volume
