Purpose for the Position:
To perform duties to maintain kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Sweeps and mops floors.
2. Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
3. Separates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers.
4. Steam-cleans or hoses-out garbage cans.
5. Sorts bottles, and breaks disposable ones in bottle-crushing machine.
6. Washes pots, pans, and trays by hand.
7. Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine.
8. Polishes silver, using burnishing-machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, and hand cloth, if required.
9. Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or by use of truck.
10. Sets up banquet tables, when required.
11. Washes and peels vegetables using knife or peeling machine, when required.
12. Sweeps and mops floor once every hour as needed.
13. Runs glasses through dish machine twice.
14. Understands OSHA regulations.
15. When handling chemicals, always wears safety glasses.
16. Puts away and rotates stock.
17. Puts away all clean utensils and stock in designated areas.
18. Maintains personal hygiene.
19. Communication between co-workers and management team required.
20. Reports to work for scheduled shift, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
21. Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
22. Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
23. Performs other related duties as required.
