Restaurant Server

Reports To: Food & Beverage Outlet Supervisor / Food & Beverage Manager / Food & Beverage Director

Purpose of the Position:
 The Restaurant Server is responsible for providing friendly, attentive, and efficient food and beverage service while creating an enjoyable dining experience for every guest. This position takes and delivers guest orders, provides menu knowledge and recommendations, processes payments, and works closely with the Food & Beverage team to ensure timely and accurate service.

This shift is scheduled between the hours of 5:30 am to 3:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Service:

• Greet guests promptly in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner.
• Provide attentive service throughout the guest’s dining experience.
• Present menus, explain menu items and specials, answer questions, and provide recommendations when appropriate.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
• Check in with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction.
• Address guest concerns professionally and involve a supervisor or manager when appropriate.
• Create a welcoming and hospitable environment for all guests.

Food & Beverage Service:

• Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Communicate orders, modifications, allergies, and special requests clearly with kitchen and bar team members.
• Serve food and beverages accurately and efficiently according to established service standards.
• Maintain current knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, specials, and available food and beverage offerings.

• Follow applicable responsible alcohol service requirements and company policies when serving alcoholic beverages.
• Monitor assigned tables and ensure guests receive timely and attentive service.

Restaurant Operations:

• Prepare assigned sections and service areas for daily operations.
• Complete assigned opening, closing, and side-work responsibilities.
• Stock and replenish supplies as needed throughout the shift.
• Maintain clean and organized tables, service stations, and dining areas.
• Assist with clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables to prepare for incoming guests.
• Work collaboratively with servers, bartenders, hosts, kitchen staff, supervisors, and other hotel departments.
• Assist other team members as needed to support efficient restaurant operations and an excellent guest experience.

Payment & Cash Handling:

• Prepare and present guest checks accurately.
• Process cash, credit card, room charges, and other approved forms of payment according to company procedures.
• Ensure all transactions are properly entered and closed in the POS system.
• Follow established cash-handling and payment procedures.

Safety & Quality Standards:

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in accordance with hotel and department standards.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and established service standards.
• Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or other operational concerns to management promptly.

• Ability to accurately take orders, process payments, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to learn and effectively use the restaurant’s POS system.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.

• Ability to remain professional and composed when responding to guest concerns or changing business needs.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely carry trays, dishes, beverages, and other restaurant items.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds regularly and heavier items occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
