Position Summary
Lerch Brothers, LLC is a premier, high-end landscape construction company based in northern Baltimore County, Maryland, specializing in designing and building luxury outdoor living spaces. We are seeking hardworking, reliable, and energetic Landscape Construction Laborers to join our elite installation crews. As the backbone of our construction projects, you will assist in bringing high-end landscape and hardscape designs to life. This is a physically demanding role that offers an excellent opportunity to learn the luxury landscaping trade from the ground up, with plenty of room for career advancement for dedicated individuals.
Key Responsibilities
Site Preparation & Material Handling
- Load and unload work trucks with necessary tools, equipment, and daily materials.
- Transport heavy materials across job sites, including natural stone, pavers, soil, mulch, sand, and gravel, primarily using wheelbarrows and hand carts.
- Assist in site demolition and preparation, including clearing brush, removing old hardscaping, and hauling away debris.
Construction & Hardscape Support
- Dig trenches for footings, drainage solutions, irrigation lines, and low-voltage lighting wire.
- Assist master masons and hardscape foremen with the installation of luxury patios, walkways, retaining walls, and outdoor kitchens.
- Mix mortar, cement, and base materials as directed by site leaders.
Planting & Softscaping
- Dig precise holes for mature trees, large shrubs, and perennials.
- Lay premium sod, spread mulch, and grade topsoil to achieve perfectly finished landscape beds.
- Hand-water newly installed plant material to ensure successful establishment.
Site Maintenance & Safety
- Maintain a pristine, organized, and safe job site at all times, reflecting the high standards expected by our elite clientele.
- Clean, maintain, and properly store all hand tools, power tools, and equipment at the end of each workday.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Prior experience in landscaping, construction, or general labor is preferred, but we are willing to train highly motivated individuals with a strong work ethic.
- Physical Stamina: This is a highly physical role. You must have the ability to continuously lift, pull, and carry 50 pounds, bend, kneel, dig, and operate heavy hand tools throughout the day.
- Outdoor Resilience: Willingness and ability to work outdoors for 8–10 hours a day in varying Maryland weather conditions (extreme heat, humidity, rain, and cold).
- Reliability: Exceptional punctuality and a proven track record of showing up ready to work every day.
- Team Player: A positive attitude, a willingness to take direction from foremen, and a desire to work collaboratively with a crew.
Transportation: Reliable transportation to our northern Baltimore County facility is required. A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is a strong plus.
Pay: $18.00 per hour
