Heavy Duty Diesel Technician - Oshkosh, WI

We’re seeking a Heavy Duty Diesel Technician to join our team in Oshkosh, WI. In this role, you’ll work alongside senior technicians and engineers to test, repair, and validate next-generation vehicles and components that support critical missions.
This is a full-time, onsite role that requires the technician to bring their own tools and tool box.
What You’ll Do
- Support testing and evaluation of prototype and current production vehicles and systems.
- Perform configuration changes, repairs, and modifications to vehicles, test stands, and components.
- Assemble, disassemble, and fabricate complex parts, mechanical structures, and test fixtures.
- Record and analyze test data using knowledge of vehicle systems (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic).
- Troubleshoot mechanical and system-level issues; perform root cause analysis.
- Operate heavy equipment, machinery, and vehicles as needed for testing or material handling.
- Determine appropriate test instruments and ensure accurate data collection.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following all safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively across teams to resolve technical challenges and provide feedback on product performance.
- Plan and prioritize daily activities to meet testing and project schedules.
Minimum Qualifications
- Technical Diploma with 3 years of hands-on experience in engineering, vehicle testing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Must supply own mechanic tool set and tool box.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree with 3 years of experience in vehicle testing, diesel systems, or mechanical engineering support.
- Strong understanding of automotive and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
- Experience with vehicle instrumentation, data acquisition systems, or diagnostic tools.
- CDL or Telehandler/AWP operator license a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented and adaptable in a fast-paced testing environment.
