What you will be doing:
- Review Designs: Review design of busbar systems and related electromechanical components and make design changes.
- Modeling and Simulation: Conduct mechanical, thermal, and electrical simulations (e.g., using ANSYS) to validate designs, analyze performance, and ensure optimal heat dissipation and current-carrying capacity.
- Prototyping and Testing: Build and validate prototype samples, develop test plans, and perform thorough design verification to meet performance and safety specifications.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers.
- Documentation and Analysis: Create detailed technical documentation, including 3D models (Creo), and test reports. Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and tolerance analysis.
- Supplier Engagement: Partner with suppliers to identify and qualify new materials and technologies and meet cost and quality objectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Manage engineering change notifications (ECN) and continuously apply best practices like Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to optimize products. Identify and implement improvements in design, reliability, and efficiency.
- Manufacturing: Support manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
- Safety and Environmental: Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
- Proficiency with CAD/EDA tools (e.g., Altium Designer, CREO) and simulation software.
- Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of EMC/EMI design considerations.
- Experience in product lifecycle management and manufacturing support.

- College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant electromechanical design with knowledge of electrical components (battery, power electronics, busbar, sensors, ECUs, harnessing, etc.)
- Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance analysis.
- Demonstrated experience with simulation software (e.g., ANSYS) for thermal, mechanical, and electromagnetic analysis.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles and relevant manufacturing processes (stamping, molding, assembly).
- Good communicator - written and verbal
