Private Credit Associate

Leon Capital Group
York, NY Full Time
POSTED ON 12/31/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 2/1/2026

Position Overview:

Leon Capital Group (LCG) is a founder-led diversified holding company with a long-term, partnership-driven approach across healthcare, financial services, real estate, and technology. LCG’s culture is entrepreneurial and grounded in the belief that capital, relationships, and creativity compounded over time drive enduring value creation

The Private Credit Associate will join Leon Healthcare Credit Partners (LHCP), the dedicated healthcare credit platform within Leon Capital Group Direct Investments. LHCP provides tailored credit solutions to lower-middle-market healthcare companies, typically those with $1–15MM of EBITDA and $10–50MM in transaction size, to support growth, recapitalization, and strategic transformation. The team leverages deep healthcare operating experience, proprietary sourcing relationships, and institutional credit underwriting discipline to generate equity-like returns with the downside protection of credit. The Associate will play a hands-on role across all stages of investment, execution, and platform-building.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

You are a high-performing, analytically driven investor who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments. You combine the precision of a credit underwriter with the curiosity and entrepreneurial mentality of an operator, someone who not only assesses risk but also identifies opportunity. You are eager to partner with founders, management teams, and senior investors to structure creative financing solutions and support long-term value creation within the healthcare ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Investment Execution & Underwriting:

  • Lead and support underwriting of new private credit opportunities across healthcare subsectors, including corporate lending, structured credit, and hybrid capital investments.
  • Conduct detailed company, industry, and financial analysis, including reviewing data rooms, market research, expert calls, and third-party diligence.
  • Build and maintain robust financial models and cash-flow projections; assess downside and sensitivity scenarios.
  • Prepare and present investment memoranda and recommendations to the Investment Committee.
  • Support term sheet structuring, negotiation, and documentation of definitive agreements.

Portfolio Management & Platform Building:

  • Monitor portfolio company performance, covenant compliance, and financial reporting.
  • Contribute to building and refining LHCP’s internal toolkit, from pipeline management and underwriting workflows to internal systems and reporting processes.
  • Coordinate with LCG’s broader platform to leverage cross-functional insights into healthcare company operations, growth, and risk mitigation.
  • Contribute to ongoing platform build-out, strategy development, and pipeline tracking.

Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of experience in investment banking, direct lending, private equity, or credit-focused asset management.
  • Advanced analytical and technical skills with a strong command of accounting and corporate finance principles.
  • Demonstrated experience driving execution, whether through deal processes, strategic initiatives, or operating projects.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools and technology platforms to enhance productivity and decision-making.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communicator with a data-driven approach to problem solving and a bias for action.
  • Team-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a leading academic institution; outstanding academic and professional track record.
  • Willingness to relocate to New York and work in-person, five days per week at our office.
