What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Credit Associate position at Graycliff Partners LP?
Graycliff is growing and we are currently looking for an associate with at least 1 year of relevant experience to focus on lower middle market credit investing. The new hire will be based out of our NYC headquarters with a Q4 2025 target start date. Graycliff credit manages over $750 million of assets and committed capital and is investing out of its fourth fund, which was raised in 2023. The fund focuses on providing unitranche, second lien, mezzanine, preferred equity and equity co-invests for sponsored, independent sponsored, and non-sponsored companies. We typically focus on businesses with $3 to $15 million of EBITDA and are industry generalists.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include: initial deal screening, financial & business due diligence and portfolio management.

Ideal Candidates will have:
- At least 1 year of work experience in credit investing at a bank or non-bank lender or debt capital raising / leverage finance experience at an investment bank and an undergraduate college degree
- Intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic and team-first attitude
- Solid financial acumen with understanding of the three financial statements and related accounting principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, PowerPoint and Word

Graycliff was formed in 2011 by the former management team of HSBC’s U.S. private equity unit and now manages a family of funds providing debt and equity capital to lower middle market companies. We are currently investing out of two funds and have over $1.7 billion in committed capital. We are a team of 20 investment professionals with the majority of team members based out of our NYC headquarters.
In accordance with New York State pay transparency laws, base salary for this position is estimated to be in the range of $110,000 to $150,000 and total annual compensation, inclusive of a discretionary bonus, is estimated to be $220,000 to $275,000. Note that salary / compensation may fall outside these parameters and will be dependent on experience level, among other qualifications.
