What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Attendance & Engagement Support Position - Internal Posting Only position at Leominster High School?
The Leominster Public Schools is seeking staff to support a Summer Buy Back Program for high school students designed to improve attendance, strengthen student engagement, and support successful transition into the upcoming school year.
This program will provide students with an opportunity to regain lost credit/time through structured attendance support activities, reflection, goal setting, and engagement-based learning experiences.
Responsibilities may include:
- Facilitate student attendance recovery sessions
- Support students in developing individualized attendance improvement plans
- Assist students with goal setting and future planning using MyCAP
- Provide opportunities for community service and/or school-based service projects
- Engage students in reflective activities focused on barriers to attendance and school success
- Build positive relationships and reconnect students to school supports and resources
- Support students with executive functioning, organization, and school readiness skills
- Facilitate activities focused on social-emotional learning, belonging, and engagement
- Collaborate with school counselors, administrators, family engagement staff, and support personnel
- Maintain attendance and participation records for the program
- Help students identify academic, behavioral, and personal goals for the upcoming school year
Qualifications:
- Experience working with high school students preferred
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Ability to engage students through supportive and restorative practices
- Familiarity with MyCAP, attendance interventions, SEL practices, and student support systems preferred
