Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute a long‑term HR and people strategy aligned with organizational growth and mission.
- Build scalable HR operating models for a distributed, multi‑site workforce.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on workforce planning, org design, succession, and change management.
- Establish enterprise‑wide HR governance, policies, and leadership accountability frameworks.
- Lead leadership development and management capability initiatives across locations.
- Oversee HR compliance and risk management in a regulated environment.
- Provide executive oversight of HR operations, payroll, benefits, and HR systems.
- Establish workforce analytics, dashboards, and KPIs to support executive decision‑making.
- Act as an escalation point for complex employee relations issues (without managing daily ER).
- Partner with the CEO and executive team on strategic workforce and leadership priorities.
- Review HR metrics related to turnover, vacancies, engagement, and leadership effectiveness.
- Meet with senior leaders and site leadership to align on organizational design and talent needs.
- Guide HR leaders on policy consistency, compliance posture, and risk mitigation.
- Evaluate and improve HR systems, processes, and reporting capabilities.
- Sponsor leadership development initiatives and culture‑building efforts.
- Support organizational change initiatives tied to growth, funding, or operational shifts.
Skills And Requirements
- 5-10 years of progressive HR leadership experience in complex or multi‑site organizations.
- Proven experience building or transforming HR functions, not just maintaining them.
- Strong expertise in organizational design, leadership development, and workforce strategy.
- Executive‑level communication and influencing skills.
- Deep understanding of HR governance, compliance, and risk oversight.
- Ability to lead through others rather than owning day‑to‑day execution.
- Experience in nonprofit, education, healthcare, or other regulated environments.
- Experience supporting organizations with public or grant‑based funding models.
- SPHR or SHRM‑SCP certification.
- Background leading HR through periods of growth, expansion, or organizational change.
- Experience implementing or optimizing HRIS and payroll platforms.
