Technical Artist (Animation Systems) Responsibilities
Skills And Requirements
Demonstrated expertise at understanding inner workings of a real-time game engine (Unity, Unreal, etc)
4 years of experience with Python and C in complex real-time 3D applications and game engines
Experience with game/real-time profiling and optimization techniques
Portfolio showcasing character rigging experience in a DCC (e.g. Maya)
Experience working with version control systems (Git, Perforce, etc.)
Problem-solving skills – understanding the underlying technology and tools necessary to power an advanced avatar system
Experience shipping products with stringent runtime performance constraints, such as complex mobile or 3D applications or games
Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment solving complex problems
Experience communicating across team members including engineers and artists Proven track record for developing animation systems and pipelines
Knowledge of emerging technologies, including VR/MR, Face and Body Tracking, USD, AI
Experience optimizing for large scale games
Experience with JS, React

Technical Artist (Animation Systems) Responsibilities
- Partner closely with Art, Design, and Engineering teams to define, develop and maintain avatars animation systems and pipeline technologies (e.g. Avatar data creation/retargeting for face and body, state machines, behavior trees, physics-based animations)
- Implement runtime logic within complex real-time environments, balancing performance limitations with creative vision
- Optimize systems for performance, sharing best practices with cross-functional partners
- Diagnose and fix bugs, and quickly resolve issues with cross-functional leads
