As the on-site lead, you will oversee the construction of critical community assets such as education facilities, medical centers, and other public-use buildings, managing a workforce of 30-50 staff, ensuring all work aligns with project goals, safety standards, and client expectations.
What you'll do
- Serve as the primary lead for all construction activities across multiple vertical infrastructure projects.
- Manage and coordinate Construction Managers, Inspectors, and contractors, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, budget, and safety protocols.
- Oversee daily site operations, including logistics, inspections, quality control, and safety compliance.
- Collaborate closely with the client, Jacobs’ project team, and subconsultants to ensure seamless communication and issue resolution.
- Lead construction progress meetings, prepare reports, and provide updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and enforce contract compliance, manage change orders, and support claims resolution.
- Ensure timely completion of construction milestones and facilitate smooth handover to operations or post-construction teams.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement on-site.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 20 years of progressive experience in construction management, with a strong focus on vertical infrastructure (e.g., schools, hospitals, municipal buildings).
- Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-contractor construction sites.
- Strong knowledge of CMAR, Design-Build, and other alternative delivery methods.
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Deep understanding of construction contracts, permitting, safety regulations, and quality assurance practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Master’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with tribal, municipal, or federally funded projects.
- Familiarity with community infrastructure development, including public health and education facilities.
- Working knowledge of federal compliance requirements and reporting standards.
