Job Title: Senior AccountantJob Description

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, while contributing to departmental and organizational projects. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting practices, as well as the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
• Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules.
• Analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month-end close and resolve any outstanding accounting issues, including open reconciling items, in a timely manner.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, analysis, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules.
• Understand and analyze Intercompany transactions.
• Prepare bank reconciliations.
• Prepare various sales reports and KPI reports.
• Maintain fixed assets and depreciation calculations and analyses.
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
• Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.
  
  

Essential Skills

• QuickBooks experience is required.
• A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a staff or senior accountant role.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking on new tasks with a high level of difficulty.
• Effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Planning and organizing skills.
• Strategic and tactical thinking abilities.
• Effective communication skills.
• Problem identification and analysis.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles.
• Knowledge of auditing practices and principles.
  
  

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of Lease Accounting ASC 842 is a plus.
• Experience and knowledge of M&A is a plus.
• Ability to be flexible and adjust project priorities as needs arise.
• Excel skills: pivot tables, vlookups, and SUMifs.
• Experience with acquisition accounting is strongly preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $50.48/hr.
