This on-site position operates on the first shift, Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5pm, with the possibility of starting earlier depending on job tasks. Job Title: Scientist II
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Scientist II to join our Sciences Department. This on-site position operates on the first shift, Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5pm, with the possibility of starting earlier depending on job tasks. The level of responsibility and compensation will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform high throughput quantitative in vivo and in vitro mass spectrometry analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving of small molecule compounds from various bio-matrices.
- Operate, perform routine maintenance, and hands-on troubleshooting of AB Sciex mass spectrometry systems.
- Train and mentor junior scientists.
- Maintain excellent documentation of all work, including LIMS, electronic notebooks, test methods, and protocols.
- Collaborate closely with multiple teams across Discovery to support bioanalysis.
- Write or contribute to study reports for regulatory submissions.
- At least 2 years of experience in bioanalysis, in vivo assays, in vitro assays, data analysis, and mass spectrometry.
- Proven method development experience using various extraction, chromatographic, and analytical methodologies.
- Proven experience with quantitative bioanalysis of small molecules.
- Experience operating and troubleshooting Agilent HPLCs, Leap/CTC PAL autosamplers, and AB Sciex Mass Spectrometers.
- Ability to work independently in a high-throughput environment to design and conduct experiments, interpret, document, and communicate results.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience in regulated bioanalysis and/or CRO Facility settings is a plus.
- Understanding of small molecule analysis in biomatrix.
- Understanding of peptides and proteins in biomatrix is a plus.
- Reverse phase method development is a plus.
