R&D Lab Technician

We are seeking a Technician with electronics development experience in a R&D environment where prototypes are created rapidly to determine which ones advance to production. The role involves assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of prototype electronics and electromechanical assemblies, primarily in a lab setting.

Essential Skills

• BS or Associates degree.
• 3-10 years of experience in electronics or electromechanical
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
• Hands-on experience, ideally with R&D/NPD.
• PCBA soldering skills, both through hole and surface mount.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test prototype electronics and electromechanical assemblies.
• Perform PCBA soldering, including through hole and surface mount techniques.
• Conduct wiring and wire harness assembly.
• Read and interpret schematics, bill of materials, and assembly instructions.
• Manage and maintain an electronics lab, providing occasional support in an R&D test lab.
• Support internal and external product development projects.
• Troubleshoot PCB's to component level and perform testing.
  
  

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• LabView programming and data acquisition experience.
• Data analysis capabilities.
• Troubleshooting skills at the component level.
  
  

Work Environment

The role is primarily lab-based but may require occasional work on the production floor. The team consists of mechanical, software, and hardware engineers, with a need for an electrical specialist.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendale Heights, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
