Responsibilities
- Develops expertise in plant processes and equipment to become a primary resource for troubleshooting and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Supports process improvement projects from definition of requirements, through design, execution, and tracking the benefits.
- Conducts daily plant walkthroughs and inspections to assess process conditions and to identify and address issues.
- Works with Process Technology team to plan and carry out plant trials for new products and new processes.
- Conducts and supports commissioning and startup activities, including PHA, PSSR, MOC, writing SOPs/work instructions, and providing training to other plant personnel.
- Leads data driven RCCA for process deviations, downtime, and EHHS events.
- Assists with developing project pipeline with data analysis by facilitating process mapping, or value stream mapping events.
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
- Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
- BS in Chemical Engineering or related technical field.
- 5 years in chemical manufacturing or related process industry.
- Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
- Proficiency in project management processes.
- Continuous Improvement education or experience, e.g. LEAN, Six Sigma
- Experience leveraging data driven analysis to enhance manufacturing processes
- Process control system experience.
