Major/Essential Duties of Job:
Assist in the design, conduct, analysis, and communication of research and outreach regarding management of feral hogs.
Coordinate among researchers and projects.
Engage with agency, industry, academic partners.
Assist with mentoring of graduate students.
Required Education
Other duties as required.
PhD in Wildlife Ecology, Wildlife Management, or related field
Preferred Education
PhD in Wildlife Ecology, Wildlife Management, or related field
Required Experience
Experience with research on feral hogs, their management and ecology. Experience conducting, analyzing, and communicating results of research.
Preferred Experience
Experience with spatial analysis of animal damage and movement. Familiarity with individuals and organizations in feral hog management
Required Licenses, Certifications, Or Registrations
Hunter Education, NRA firearm safety training.
Preferred Licenses, Certifications Or Registrations
valid driver license
Required Special Knowledge, Abilities, And Skills
Excellent communication skills; knowledge of program R, ArcGIS, spatial analysis, common statistical approaches to wildlife data, ability to operate under adverse field conditions. Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Special Knowledge, Abilities, And Skills
Experience with firearms and euthanasia of feral hogs. Ability to lead field projects under adverse conditions.
