Job Title: Molecular BiologistJob Description

We are seeking a Molecular Biologist to join our dynamic team in support of product development in plant biotechnology. We encourage candidates with diverse molecular biology backgrounds to apply as we value the ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of molecular biology, specifically DNA manipulations and automation experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform DNA preparations, digestions, ligations, electroporations, DNA transformations, and PCR.
• Follow DNA cloning instructions under the guidance of lab personnel.
• Design and troubleshoot alternative cloning approaches as needed.
• Conduct high-throughput DNA cloning reactions with precision.
• Learn and utilize automation programs to streamline workflows.
• Troubleshoot automation errors with guidance.
• Manage inventory and ordering of laboratory consumables.
• Maintain the organization of workspaces.
• Ensure compliance with safety and waste disposal protocols.
• Represent the team in company-wide initiatives.
• Provide laboratory support in compliance with ISO 9001 and safety standards.
  
  

Essential Skills

• BS in molecular biology with 1-3 years of experience or 7 years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Broad understanding of instrumentation and scientific principles related to molecular biology.
• Ability to learn quickly and be coached in new techniques and processes.
• Ability to assist in experimental design and participate in moderate to extensive problem-solving.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while seeking guidance when necessary.
  
  

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Candidates from non-plant biology backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
