Manufacturing Supervisor
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Manufacturing Supervisor to lead and support our CNC machining operations, with a strong emphasis on 5-axis milling and lathe machines. This role requires a deep understanding of advanced machining processes, team leadership, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support CNC machining operations with a focus on 5-axis milling and lathe machines.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of CNC and precision machining to optimize shop personnel and equipment.
- Manage the activities of the assigned personnel within the department.
- Design jigs, tooling, and fixtures as needed.
- Provide unbiased feedback to employees and manage interactions in an objective, responsible manner.
- Create and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for machines, including coolant systems.
- Monitor production, efficiency, and quality to ensure optimal performance.
- Expertise in CNC and precision machining.
- Proficiency in supervision, production management, and production supervision.
- Strong human relation skills for dealing with management and personnel.
- Ability to operate CNC machines using console controls for complex, close tolerance operations.
- Capability to perform first piece runs and build fixtures using CNC equipment.
- Advanced understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge of materials as related to machining.
- Ability to communicate instructions and sign off on QC documentation.
- Experience in lean manufacturing and process improvement.
- Ability to perform debugging of CNC programs and tool compensations.
- Skills in optimizing processes and assisting with plans, methods, and sequence of operations.
- Proficiency in training others in machine and department operations.
