Additionally, you will drive process standardization, continuous process improvement, and cost savings, across the enterprise.
How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock
- Develop and implement category strategies, aligned with overall procurement and business objectives
- Lead supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management to ensure cost savings, quality and timely delivery
- Manage supplier relationships, including performance management, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor market analysis and benchmarking to identify trends, opportunities and supply chain risks to mitigate potential disruptions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Planning, and Logistics to align capabilities with business needs
- Improve supply chain assurance through a thorough understanding of market drivers that impact the timely delivery of goods and services to our manufacturing sites for the best value.
- Drive the standardization of procurement processes through stakeholder engagement and alignment across all business segments to ensure we optimize our purchasing power and create transactional efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (MBA or Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of procurement experience with at least 3 years in packaging or direct materials procurement in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in category management and strategic sourcing
- Strong negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship management skills
- Ability to easily build relationships with stakeholders and resolve potential conflicts
- Proven ability to negotiate and manage complex contracts with key suppliers
- Strong communication skills, ability to develop relationships, and lead through change.
- Ability to work across multiple teams and lead through influence.
