MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Linux Engineer to join our team onsite in Norfolk, Virginia . This is an onsite position.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Provide Tier 3 technical remote and onsite support and guidance to NCTE Range end-users, addressing IT-related issues and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to system configurations and network connectivity for Range POR systems.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, procedures, and best practices, with a focus on maintaining a secure IT environment.
- Familiarity with Active Directory in Windows environments.
- Writing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for IT systems and processes.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues effectively.
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems especially Red Hat 6, 7, 8, and 9.
- Strong understanding of Linux filesystems and LVM.
- Understanding of operation and updating of Red Hat Satellite.
- Ability to work with DNS and DHCP and Windows/Linux environments.
- Understanding of Red Hat patching methods.
- Familiarity with backup systems a plus.
- Understanding of Linux networking.
- Familiarity with VMWare ESXi and able to work with virtual Linux systems.
- Up to 25% travel can be expected.
- High School Diploma and 5 years of relevant IT systems experience.
- Experience in system administration, with proficiency in both Linux and Windows environments.
- Must have CompTIA Security CE.
- Must have a VMware, Windows, or Linux Operating System (OS) certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- US Citizenship and active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
