Job Title: Lab Technician

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Type: Contract

Compensation: $23.00

Contractor Work Model: On-Site

Hours: M-F, 7-3 and 9-5 shifts (alternating shifts)

Overview

Global food manufacturer looking to hire experienced Lab Technician to join their growing team. Must have at least 2 years' experience in a lab setting and/or AS or BS in science-related field.

Responsibilities

• Follow preparation techniques for the processing of samples for lab testing, including the use of grinding mills and other comminution techniques (i.e., blenders, Magic Bullet grinders, liquid nitrogen).
• Ensure accurate labeling of sample cups with assigned unique identifiers.
• Record sample preparation techniques and delivery details into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software.
• Split role between sample processing and dishroom lab area, maintaining glassware cleanliness and organization in collaboration with lab teams.
• Maintain organizational structure of samples by accurately delivering and disposing of samples as necessary.
• Execute submission requests through third-party labs by logging samples and preparing them for shipment.
• Follow all lab safety and quality requirements and procedures (i.e., PPE, GMP, OSHA, ISO).
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a lab setting and/or AS or BS in science-related field
• Ability to use multiple computer systems (LIMS, Microsoft Office)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sample processing and labeling
• Fast learner with natural curiosity and drive to learn new techniques and processes
• Proficient in multitasking and prioritization of tasks in a high-volume environment
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrates flexibility in daily tasks and workload changes
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting with strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and stand for 5-6 hours daily
• Able to complete tasks while wearing PPE such as face shields, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, OSHA-approved safety glasses, laboratory coat, and cryogenic gloves
