Job Description
The primary role of a laboratory technician is to conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests, assisting scientists and engineers in the qualitative and quantitative analyses of solid and liquid materials. These materials are primarily used in the institutional cleaning chemical market. The laboratory technician will support multiple projects and project teams, focusing on machine ware washing chemicals, equipment, and ware performance testing.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory tests under direct supervision, controlling variable conditions and noting any unusual events or deviations from the prescribed test conditions. Recommend improvements to experimental procedures.
- Measure test results and record all data accurately and concisely in a laboratory notebook.
- Assist higher-level technical personnel in analyzing and interpreting experimental data. Make preliminary evaluations of results and recommend acceptance or rejection.
- Maintain the productivity and organization of a busy research laboratory.
- Maintain Standard Operating Procedures and make recommendations for their improvement.
- Participate in scientific discussions and critical thinking.
- Assemble test materials and equipment to expedite test procedures.
- Assist in analyzing and interpreting experimental data.
- Maintain a clean and safe work facility.
- Experience in chemistry, focusing more on chemical experience rather than biochemistry.
- Quality assurance and analytical chemistry skills.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques, wet chemistry, and quality control.
- Data entry and sample management skills.
- Associate's Degree required; Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred.
- Creativity and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects.
- Attention to detail, verified by references.
- Familiarity with MS Office and statistical software is preferred.
This role is 100% onsite and not open to remote workers. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, with some flexibility. The facility offers a beautiful campus with a walking path surrounding the area and an on-site cafeteria with great options and an outdoor terrace for lunch. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
