Job Description
Hours: Full Time- 35 Hours
Work Location: 30-30 Thomson Avenue, LIC, NY 11101

The Department of Design and Construction, Division of Safety and Site Support seeks Junior Safety Auditor. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of DDC’s safety-related construction programs. Key duties include conducting field safety audits and inspections of capital construction project sites to identify hazardous conditions that may impact workers or the public, ensuring the implementation of corrective actions, and enforcing DDC safety policies and procedures in alignment with local, state, and federal regulations, including, but not limited to, OSHA, DOT, DOB, and MUTCD. The candidate will be expected to prepare and issue electronic reports documenting field safety findings, manage safety-related electronic records, and ensure compliance with applicable safety standards. When required, the candidate will attend construction meetings, support emergency response efforts during both working and off-hours, participate in accident investigations, and communicate effectively with project staff, consultant teams, and contractors. Additional responsibilities involve reviewing Site Safety Plans (SSPs) and preparing various safety reports.
Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position. NYC Department of Design and Construction does not provide sponsorship for international employees. - A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college. A degree in any other engineering area or in civil engineering technology is not acceptable.
