As our Summer Intern, you’ll get hands-on experience in the lab, contribute to projects that matter, and work alongside scientists who love what they do (and might even crack a joke or two while pipetting).
What you’ll be up to during your 10-12 week adventure:
- Get hands-on with techniques like Western blotting, ELISA, and Co-Immunoprecipitation (CoIP)—don’t worry, we’ll show you the ropes!
- Test how different conditions affect protein stability and how well they can bind to other molecules.
- Help produce and purify proteins needed for cutting-edge assay development.
- Collaborate with scientists to support reagent development and optimize experiments.
- Dive into real-world protein biochemistry, building skills that’ll wow your future professors and employers.
- You can work full-time during the summer (May/June - August/September).
- You’re currently working on your Bachelor’s degree, with at least one semester left after the internship.
- Your major is in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or something similar.
- You’re heading into your junior or senior year.
- You know how to get your point across, whether you’re writing or speaking.
- You’re curious about science and eager to learn new lab techniques.
- You pay attention to details—even the small ones!
- You’re not afraid to ask questions and share ideas.
- You can work onsite at our San Diego, CA campus. Heads up : intern housing, relocation, and housing stipends aren’t provided, so you’ll need to have your living situation and transportation sorted out.
- Pay range: $22 - $28 per hour, based on your class standing and operational function.
