As a Buyer at Bunzl Distribution, you will play a key role in strategically replenishing inventory across our Southeast regional warehouses. In this dynamic position, you'll manage a queue of purchasing activities that may be organized by category, market, region, vendor, or customer. You will oversee the full procurement lifecycle-from identifying demand to final disposition-while serving as a primary liaison between Bunzl and our suppliers. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with both domestic and international vendors, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment.
This is a M-F, 8am-5pm role, working in our Lithia Springs, GA office. There may be some flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per month if needed.

Responsibilities
- Communicate with global manufacturers and suppliers regarding orders, inventory and delivery timelines.
- Support supply through product selection, development, and sourcing.
- Monitor pricing, terms and KPIs with manufacturers and suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels/inventory control among multiple warehouses and ensure maximum efficiency of warehouse space.
- Be a strong team member with peers and other key internal stakeholders, including purchasing, operations, warehouse, finance and sales.
- Deliver the on the KPI/metrics and objectives, ensuring that all actions are in sync with plan defined by local leadership. Metrics may include, but are not limited to:
- Buyer productivity - volume, value, turns, and overstock.
- Adherence to category management guidelines or demand plans that ensure preferred vendor relationships and products are core to every buying decision.
- Inventory balance granular to ordering characteristics and aged profile.
- Maintain vender relationships including service level and On Time and In Full (OTIF).
- Identification and capture of opportunities for one-time PBIT improvements.
- Direct and routinely negotiate will all levels of supplier contacts including key challenges in price, availability, lead time, and freight.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2 years of purchasing experience preferred
- International/Import buying experience preferred
- Analytical skills with the ability to use Microsoft Excel to drive decisions and communicate key performance trends.
- Understand the basics of negotiations and can pursue a predefined result.
- Ability to respond to multiple needs and priorities through open, professional communication
- Familiarity with ERP systems and/or basic ordering principles.
- Experience in one of the following: demand planning, purchasing, freight, or warehousing.
- Experience with e-mail such as Outlook and other Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, PowerPoint).
- AS400 experience a plus
