Brand and Creative Services Internship

Colorado Springs Utilities is seeking an intern to join the Brand and Customer Service section. This internship will provide a valuable opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in brand and creative production, supporting our organization's mission to serve the customers of Colorado Springs effectively.

The intern will have the chance to learn about the entire process of brand and creative production, from initial concept development to final execution. This experience will be instrumental in helping the intern understand how our brand strategies align with our goals to enhance customer satisfaction and community engagement.

Roles Within Brand And Creative Services Section

  • Marketing Materials Creation: Developing brochures, flyers, newsletters, and other print and digital materials that effectively communicate our services and initiatives to the community
  • Video Production: Producing high-quality videos for promotional campaigns, customer education, and internal communications. This includes scripting, filming, editing, and post-production
  • Graphic Design: Crafting visually appealing graphics for use in various media, including websites, social media, and print materials. This involves creating logos, infographics, and other visual content that aligns with our brand identity
  • Social Media Management: Creating and scheduling engaging social media posts to enhance our online presence and interact with our audience. This includes content creation, community management, and performance analysis
  • Brand Strategy Implementation: Ensuring that all creative outputs are consistent with our brand guidelines and contribute to our overall brand strategy

Skills The Intern Will Learn

  • Brand Strategy Development: Understanding the fundamentals of creating and implementing brand strategies that resonate with our target audience
  • Creative Production: Gaining insights into the creative process, including graphic design, content creation, and multimedia production
  • Marketing Campaigns: Learning how to plan, execute, and analyze marketing campaigns across various channels
  • Customer Engagement: Developing skills in customer service and engagement, ensuring our communications are customer-centric and effective
  • Project Management: Acquiring project management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
  • Production Management: Organizing and cataloging video and photo libraries to ensure quick access to high-quality assets, streamlining future production workflows and enhancing creative efficiency
  • Data Analysis: Using data to measure the success of marketing efforts and make informed decisions
  • Collaboration: Working closely with different teams within the organization to ensure cohesive and consistent branding
  • This internship is full-time, 40 hours/week during the summer months, and 10-20 hours per week during the school year, schedule can be coordinate with students' schedule and school workload.
  • This is an on-site, non-remote/non-telecommuting position
  • Hourly rate is dependent on year completed of academic degree, e.g., second year complete, third year complete, etc.
  • Candidates MUST be enrolled in a degree seeking program (Associates/Bachelors/Masters) with a 2.5 GPA and be able to provide documentation if requested. Enrollment in a certification program does not qualify.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or small amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
  • Positions in this class typically require reaching, standing, walking, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
