This Opportunity
The Tempe, AZ WSP USA office has an immediate career opportunity for an AutoCAD Civil 3D Designer to support our infrastructure operations. We are seeking an individual with good enthusiasm, strong communication and technical skills. The ideal candidate should have strong work experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D to support a dynamic Water/ Wastewater Group.
Primary focus for project work will be to prepare construction drawings for water and wastewater (W/WW) facilities in the municipal sectors, including water/sewer pipelines, pump stations, treatment plants and storage facilities. Projects may also include design work on conveyance piping, grading and drainage plans, full site development, stormwater infrastructure and other related Civil Engineering infrastructure.

Your Impact
- Assist with the design of complex layouts and drawings from general written or verbal specifications from the project team using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software
- Work with project team members to investigate and resolve problems with existing designs and make corrections to the drawings as requested by senior staff
- Creates preliminary and detailed design figures and drawings for Water and Wastewater projects
- Prepares plan, section and detail design drawings for full site development projects
- Prepares plan and profile (pipeline) design drawings for a variety of water or sewer systems
- Prepares project quantities, assists with project cost estimates and related tasks
- Adheres to discipline-specific CAD standards recognized by industry
- A minimum of 5 years of experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D® to prepare construction drawings, the more experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D the better
- Knowledge in AutoCAD Civil 3D design other than Water or Wastewater is a plus
- Associate or higher degree in computer aided drafting is recommended
- Possess good verbal, analytical, writing skills, and attention to detail
- Proven ability to read and understand both 2D and 3D drawings
- Must work well in a project team environment, as well as have the capacity to conduct work with minimal supervision and oversight
- Must pass background check
