I. Job Summary

The Accounting Analyst I will provide accounting and finance coverage for all WM Area Finance/Accounting teams and Corporate Finance/Accounting departments (i.e. finance, accounting, internal audit, treasury). The analyst will be assigned to support projects and assignments across a variety of Finance functions.

This role is a hybrid role based in the US, working at the nearest WM office which will require working in the office Mondays – Thursdays and remote on Fridays.

II. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Performs month-end close activities for assigned areas of responsibility including preparing journal entries for entry into the general ledger.
• Analyzes general ledger accounts for accuracy; Prepares monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and adequately documents conclusions.
• Prepares basic financial reports in a timely and accurate manner; and completes individual analytical projects in a satisfactory manner given abstract project guidelines.
• Participates in monthly financial meetings for discussion and review of monthly financial reports.
• Assists with the maintenance and application of internal controls. Executes internal controls responsibilities timely and accurately.
• Performs simple financial projects on an ad hoc basis.
• Monitors key financial performance measures.
  
  

III. Qualifications

• Education and Experience
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, high School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant experience.
• Experience: One (1) year of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
• None required.
• Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
• General understanding of US GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and SEC regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong business acumen.
• Travel: Infrequent travel (Up to10%)
• Must be authorized to work in the US.

The expected salary range for this position across the U.S. is $65,000 to $80,000. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
