2026 Program Information
Duquesne Light Company offers summer internships that provide a hands-on, meaningful employment opportunity in a supportive setting that cultivates learning and collaboration. Duquesne Light’s internship program will provide you with a valuable experience and a solid start to your career in various disciplines.
The Data Governance and Quality Intern will work within the Data & Analytics group at DLH. The team uses a center-led approach to unlock actionable insights by fostering data literacy and stewardship, through implementation of data governance, data quality, and analytical initiatives.
Education/Requirements
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in Business, Communications, Marketing or a related major.

All internships follow our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Interns must be in the immediate Pittsburgh area for the summer. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.

2026 Program Information
Duquesne Light Company offers summer internships that provide a hands-on, meaningful employment opportunity in a supportive setting that cultivates learning and collaboration. Duquesne Light’s internship program will provide you with a valuable experience and a solid start to your career in various disciplines.
- Internships are full-time (40 hours/week), paid, and run for 12 weeks (May-August).
- Internships are located in Pittsburgh and follow DLH’s Hybrid Work Model (described below).
- Candidates must be full-time, degree-seeking students enrolled in an accredited college or university and have completed their Sophomore year of studies.
- Candidates must have at least one semester remaining after completion of the internship/must not have graduated prior to the internship starting.
- Candidates must be in good academic standing.
- Candidates must be willing to work the required schedule as defined in the job description.
- Demonstrated leadership ability through studies, employment or extracurricular activities.
- Aptitude for problem solving; strong communication skills.

- Demonstrated quantitative and data analysis skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
The Data Governance and Quality Intern will work on a variety of initiatives including but not limited to:
- Serve as a junior program manager for Data Governance and Quality related programs
- Track and maintain budget for merchandise and events, generating quarterly updates on the program, and identify deficiencies
- Evaluate and provide strategic recommendations for overall improvement in Data Governance and Quality related program
- Assist the team in planning Data Governance and Quality events and communicating with vendors
- Design/ Review Data Governance & Quality marketing material including posters/brochures/forms, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
