Director of Public Relations

SUMMARY:

Provides leadership and coordinates development and implementation of strategies for the district’s public relations, communications, and marketing efforts and serves as liaison at local and state public relations councils.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Required: 

• Bachelor Degree
• Advanced office technology skills, including word processing, Power Point, electronic calendar, and web-based programs
• Minimum of three (3) years work experience
• Social media marketing experience, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
• Website content management experience
• Demonstrates excellence in:
  • Public speaking experience
  • Marketing skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Event Planning experience

Preferred:

• Desktop publishing and graphic design experience, including Adobe Creative Suite
• Proficient in website accessibility standards/ADA compliance
• Five (5) years work experience in public relations, community relations, or equivalent
• Formal education/training in marketing, communications
• Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) or equivalent certification in communications, public relations, marketing, or community relations

Salaried Grade E, Exempt

$55,500-$72,025
