Job Summary:
The Lemont Park District Legacy Gymnastics Academy is looking for energetic, active, responsible, and compassionate individuals who love working with children and want to be part of a fun, growing program! In this role you will be responsible for leading safe, structured, and engaging gymnastics classes that help participants build skills, gain confidence, and stay active all while having fun. Instructors play a key role in creating a positive and supportive environment by following established lesson plans and gym schedules to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience for every child.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
• Understand and teach classes according to the Lemont Park District’s Gymnastics program class curriculum.
• Follow mandatory lesson plans and gym schedules based on classes
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding participant progress.
• Lead activities during special events, including weekends such as Open Gyms, Camps or Gymnastics/Ninja Birthday Parties.
• Teach participants proper techniques and safety measures.
• May have the opportunity to do private lessons.
• Provide individualized attention to students to ensure skill development.
• Create a motivating and positive environment for all participants.
• Maintain a safe environment by enforcing all safety guidelines and procedures.
• Perform regular equipment checks to ensure safety and functionality.
• Respond to any incidents or injuries according to established protocols.
• Attend mandatory in-service training, district wide staff orientations and crisis training as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Applicants must be 16 years of age or older in compliance with Illinois Child Labor Laws and the Fair Labor Standards Act.
- Knowledge of gymnastics and/or ninja warrior techniques.
- Ability to work with children of various ages and skill levels.
- Strong people and customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with participants, parents, staff and the public.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required by class schedule.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire.
Work Environment:
Work will take place indoors in a typical gymnast environment. Employees must have the ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including standing, bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, running, and lifting. Exposure to cleaning and disinfecting supplies. Exposure to noise, gymnastics chalk and elevation.
