About LMN
Lemon Media Network is the independent media company founded by veteran journalist Don Lemon, built on the conviction that journalism should be done without fear or favor and that a free press is the bedrock of democracy. Through The Don Lemon Show and a growing roster of correspondents and verticals, LMN delivers daily breaking news, political analysis, and cultural commentary to a community of more than 10 million followers across platforms.
We launched in 2024 and have grown fast: a twice-daily live show, a daily newsletter, a fast-growing paid membership community, and a national tour. In April 2026, The Don Lemon Show swept the 30th annual Webby Awards in its category, winning both the Webby and the People's Voice Award for Best Video Podcast Host. Earlier this year the show took home four NAACP Image Awards, including Outstanding News and Information. We're a small, independent team building something that didn't exist two years ago.
The Job
We're looking for a Senior Producer to run daily production and set editorial direction alongside Don. This role reports directly to Don.
This is the second most important editorial seat in the company. You'll be in the room with Don every day deciding what we cover. You'll book the guests. You'll originate the tentpoles: midterms coverage, election night, award season, Don Lemon's NYE Live from New Orleans, field packages that take the show on the road. You'll help decide what LMN becomes as we add franchises and formats.
The job is in New York and it's in person. The show moves too fast for anything else.
We're open on where you've come up. Some of the best people for this are in newsrooms. Some are running a creator's channel, or producing daytime, or late night. What matters is that you've done this work on deadline, under pressure, for an audience that was actually paying attention. If you've got three years and you've been running things yourself, apply.
Sample Responsibilities
The list below is representative, not exhaustive. Because LMN is a small, fast-moving team, the Senior Producer will take on a range of work as the news cycle and the company evolve.
- Set editorial strategy alongside Don: what we cover and how we cover it
- Own the daily rundown across both show formats, and run our twice-daily all-staff editorial meetings
- Serve as the show's lead booker, and build the guest directory into a long-term asset
- Originate and produce tentpole moments and special programming, including travel and on-location shoots
- Pitch and prototype new formats, franchises, and recurring segments
- As part of the leadership team, help shape how we show up platform by platform alongside our social media partners. YouTube, Substack, TikTok, and the rest reward different things
- Drive our thinking on paid membership: what members-only content we make, how calls and call-ins run, how franchises like Lemon Legends stay worth paying for
- Own thumbnail strategy and packaging with our social media partners, testing against click-through and iterating
- Write and edit segment copy, interview questions, and show notes in Don's voice
- Run live distribution with Senior Technical Director across every platform we stream on, and audio distribution to Spotify, Apple, iHeart, and the rest of the feed
- Find and roll out AI tools that make production faster, and kill the ones that don't work
- Partner with our Senior Technical Director, Director of Operations, and Washington correspondent on planning, coverage, and the numbers we hold ourselves to
- Supervise and develop junior production staff and our rotating cohort of editorial and production residents (interns)
What We're Looking For
- Strong news judgment, grounded in real reporting instincts and media ethics, with a feel for politics, culture, and the media landscape
- Ownership of getting us live across every platform, working with our technical director. You should be technical enough to solve most problems yourself and know when to pull in help
- Around five years producing daily news, politics, or commentary programming. We'll look at less if you've been running things yourself and know these platforms cold
- A rigorous understanding of who our audience is and why they come to us, plus ideas for reaching new ones. We want to grow without losing the people who built this
- An instinct for what breaks through. You know how these platforms actually reward content, and you can find the moment that travels without costing us credibility
- A track record of originating ideas and formats, not just executing someone else's
- Sharp writing in Don’s voice, fast, and comfortable being edited
- A self-starter who can run with assignments without being micromanaged
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with live streaming and multi-platform distribution
- Experience with paid memberships, subscriptions, or building community around a brand or a personality
- A proven booker with relationships you can bring with you
- Experience launching a new show or format from zero, or producing live events and touring content
- Fluent with AI tools in a real production workflow, with opinions about where they help and where they fall apart
- Design instincts and enough fluency in Canva or similar to build a thumbnail yourself when you need to
