Lemle & Wolff Construction Corp. is seeking a Compliance Coordinator in connection with commercial construction projects in New York City, including ground-up multi-family and rehabilitation projects. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, demonstrate capabilities and grow within a dynamic company working on exciting and meaningful projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Generally
- Execute labor compliance protocols at construction jobsite
- Coordinate among onsite personnel including general contractor team members, subcontractors and workers with regard to compliance protocols, including jobsite worker orientations and procedures related to site access control measures
- Report regularly to supervisory personnel
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain organized, accurate records of all certified payroll reports, wage determinations, and compliance correspondence
- Prepare summary reports for project managers and other supervisors, highlighting compliance status and outstanding issues
- Prepare detailed worker-level documentation, ensuring each individual’s records are complete and accurate
Communication & Coordination
- Serve as the point person for subcontractors regarding Davis-Bacon Act and Related Act wage and labor compliance questions and documentation submissions
- Coordinate with project managers, site superintendents, and administrative staff to ensure all trade partners submit required documents on time
- Support compliance audits and provide documentation to government agencies or third-party monitors when requested
Certified Payroll Monitoring
- Review and verify weekly certified payroll reports submitted by subcontractors to ensure compliance with Davis-Bacon Act and Related Act wage and labor compliance requirements
- Confirm wage classifications and fringe benefits designated and hours worked are consistent with project wage determinations
- Identify and communicate discrepancies or missing information and follow up with subcontractors to resolve issues promptly
Compliance & Training
- Learn and apply Davis-Bacon Act and Related Act wage and labor compliance requirements
- Stay informed of updates to prevailing wage rates and classifications and ensure all project stakeholders are notified of changes
- Assist in informing subcontractors and workers with regard to compliance expectations and disseminating necessary information related to compliance, including, but not limited to, orientation packages and posting signage
Education and skills:
- Applicants must possess a four (4) year undergraduate degree or at least two (2) years of relevant experience
- Applicants possessing a graduate degree in any of the following fields are encouraged: engineering, construction management or architecture
- Skills and knowledge of construction practices
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Results-oriented
- Must be self-motivated and able to work in a collaborative environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required
- Fluency in Spanish is desirable but not required
- Must be willing to travel to construction sites daily
Compensation range is $50,000 to $55,000 depending upon relevant experience, ability to add value and demonstrated dedication.
