Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Rehearsal
Teach instrumental music to students of varying skill levels
Plan and conduct rehearsals for marching, concert, and pep bands
Provide individual and small-group instruction to strengthen musicianship
Select appropriate repertoire for performances and competitions
Program Leadership
Develop and maintain a comprehensive band program aligned with school goals
Organize performances, concerts, parades, competitions, and community events
Oversee marching band design, including drill, music selection, and choreography
Manage band budgets, inventory, uniforms, and equipment
Student Development
Foster a positive, disciplined, and encouraging learning environmentMentor students in musical technique, teamwork, and leadership
Prepare students for auditions, honor bands, and solo/ensemble festivals
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with school administrators, faculty, and booster organizations
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians
Coordinate transportation, logistics, and supervision for band events

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field
