Summer Food Program Assistant

Seasonal Position: July 7 – August 6
Schedule: Tuesday–Thursday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Position Summary

The Summer Food Program Assistant helps prepare and organize food bags for community distribution. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and a commitment to maintaining food safety and sanitation standards. Training will be provided.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Fill and pack food bags according to program guidelines.

• Sort and separate food items into appropriate food groups.

• Organize supplies and prepare food for distribution.

• Follow written and verbal instructions to ensure accuracy and consistency.

• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment.

• Assist with inventory organization and storage.

• Work cooperatively with team members to ensure efficient distribution.

• Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

• Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• No experience required; training provided.

• Reliable and punctual.

• Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards.
