Job Title: Lifestyle Director
Full Time Position: 40 hours per week
Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 depending on experience and education

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 5:00 pm., may vary due to events scheduled in the evening and on weekends
The ideal candidate will have
A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in business management, entertainment management, marketing, or communications. Must have 7 years of business management, event management or related experience.
Leisure World of Maryland Corporation (LWMC), the property management company for Leisure World of Maryland, is a private, age-restricted community comprised of 29 community associations representing over 5,600 homes and extensive Trust operations, located in Silver Spring, Maryland.
The Lifestyle Director is responsible for the management and daily operation of the recreation and wellness events and programming provided in Clubhouse I and Clubhouse II. The Lifestyle Director works on developing an annual schedule of events and coordinating the delivery of those events. Ensures the development of fitness and wellness programs with an emphasis on a safe, well-maintained, and adequately staffed environment and a comprehensive fitness and wellness program that enhances the mission of Leisure World of Maryland Corporation (LWMC).
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
Education & Recreation Operations:
- Develop, evaluate, and coordinate educational and recreational programming to support the 55 demographic.
- Overall management of two (2) clubhouse facilities to include but not limited to space planning, maintenance, and support for community-wide activities.
- Oversight of the following service contracts: pool facilities, fitness center, fitness center equipment maintenance, and food service.
- Interaction with assigned Leisure World of Maryland Corporation facilities manager who will maintain building equipment and the building systems maintenance contract.
- Work with Association management to establish overall objectives regarding production, profits, quality, and staff development. Monitor progress of objectives and ensure
- Assist in developing department budget and operate within the approved
- Makes recommendations for equipment or other asset purchases based upon targeted goals and operational needs.
- Develops, implements, and perpetuates employee compliance with an understanding of all company policies and procedures.
- Ensures all managers/supervisors within the department have the authority needed to carry out their assigned duties and achieve established goals.
- Ensures that programs serve the business development, health and wellness, educational opportunity, and cultural needs of the community by formulating operational policies and procedures that support priorities of LWMC.
- Assures the orderly planning, coordination, and execution of a series of presentations and programs open to the community by identifying potential program offerings available.
- Works with the recreation and wellness teams to develop and coordinate an annual schedule of events and coordinates those activities/programs with other departments, as necessary.
- Bring about acceptance and enthusiasm for programming by publishing and distributing information about the programs to the community with brochures, flyers, and electronic media such as e-blasts, websites, and social media.
- Oversees reservations and arrangements of rooms for Association and resident events and ensures that all events are scheduled with proper set-up requirements.
- Promotes awareness of departmental policies and information for the community by overseeing a marketing plan, departmental publications, web pages, and social media
- Contributes to the overall success of programming by coordinating the appearance of performers, arranging for necessary technical support equipment, and arranging for marketing, sales, scheduling of space, etc.
- Oversees the coordination of the sale and printing of tickets, information brochures, programs, posters, and other printing required for pre-event publicity and for the various performances and programs for the community.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Directly manages the Lifestyle Manager and other personnel in the department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these person(s).
Develop programs to enhance customer service and to identify areas for staff development. Subsequently, address identified areas of need and ensure delivery of consistent performance standards.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees: planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
